Today we’d like to introduce you to Skyler Badenoch
Hi Skyler, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Vineyards in the Valley will feature a curated selection of ultra-premium, highly allocated boutique wineries. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample a variety of wines, enjoy light bites provided by Amelia’s by Eat, and bid on exclusive items at a silent auction. Proceeds from the event will support Hope for Haiti and its work to provide breast and cervical cancer screenings to women in rural Haiti, nutrition support for food-insecure mothers, and access to life-saving medications for families seeking access to healthcare.
Co-Hosts Skyler Badenoch, CEO of Hope for Haiti, and Ricky Palmer share a deep-rooted friendship that spans over 40 years, both proud natives of Arizona. Ricky, with his discerning palate and relentless dedication, is the visionary behind curating and confirming more than 40 of California’s finest boutique wineries, bringing them to Arizona for this extraordinary event. Skyler, a tireless advocate for change, has dedicated over two decades to transformative work in Haiti, fueled by an unyielding passion for making a tangible difference in the world. Together, they unite their shared love for community, exceptional wine, and a commitment to creating a brighter future for those in need. This event is more than just a gathering—it’s a celebration of friendship, purpose, and the power of coming together for a cause that truly matters.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Since this is our first event in Scottsdale, we anticipate that Vineyards in the Valley will have its own unique challenges, as any event of this scale often does. One of the biggest hurdles will be coordinating with more than 45 boutique wineries coming to town to share their wine with us. Another challenge will be ensuring that the event maintains its focus on supporting Hope for Haiti while also providing a premium experience for attendees. Additionally, organizing a large-scale event in Scottsdale means balancing the expectations of the local community with the mission-driven nature of the event. However, through careful planning, strong partnerships, and a dedicated team, we’ll be able to overcome these obstacles and stay focused on making this a memorable and impactful event.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What we love most about Scottsdale is the blend of natural beauty and vibrant community life. The stunning desert landscape, with its iconic cacti and sunsets, provides an incredible backdrop for outdoor activities like hiking and golfing. Additionally, the city has a thriving arts scene, great dining options, and a strong sense of community, making it a wonderful place to live and host events like Vineyards in the Valley.
What we like least about our city: 116-degree days in September.
