Today we’d like to introduce you to Nia Renee.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have always been a creator, whether it was writing, acting, dancing, etc. And one day I decided that I wanted to turn my story into something more. I wanted to try and reach as many people as possible. I wanted to try and help as many people feel less alone. And that is how How To Love A Battered Woman was created.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. I wish it would be, but it has not. I think that is what makes my story very authentic, challenging, but authentic. This year in particular has been the hardest year for me. I have had 3 brain surgeries in the last 5 months, which has been terrifying. It has absolutely changed so many things for my business and creator-wise.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
More recently I have been known for my skits that show abusive vs. healthy relationships. I show the dynamic changes and how I went through scary situations and then I am currently in a very healthy relationship that shows the difference. I am very proud that I have gotten to the space in life where I have been able to showcase what it is like and what it means to be in a healthy and happy relationship. I am not pretending to be in a happy relationship, I am indeed in a healthy relationship.
I think what sets me apart, as I have previously explained in my last interview, is that I have so many different layers to many and so many different parts of my story that many people can relate to.
I have moved into a different chapter in my life that I feel I can showcase more. I recently got married (eeeeekk!!!) and I am the happiest I have ever been. I am the safest that I have ever been and I am the most protected that I have ever been. And I cannot wait to show that to the rest of the world. That is one of the things that I am most proud of. I survived all the relationships that tried to take me down and made it on top. I found the love of my life and it is real, safe, healthy, and happy.
What’s next?
I am looking forward to showcasing more of my other talents, such as acting. I am a video creator and I definitely want to get into making short films again. I think that it has been incredible the feedback I have gotten from the skits that I do and I’d love to be able to turn them into some sort of short film and show a different aspect of things. I want to showcase more of my talents.
I am also looking forward to providing more Chronic Illness content because that is currently the biggest part of my journey. I want to be able to help others navigate the medical community because it is not easy. Medical gaslighting is at an all-time high and I want to be able to help others understand what that means and how to get the help that they need and deserve.
