Check Out Nate, Justin, Anthony and Eli’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nate, Justin, Anthony and Eli.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We are a black-owned business, from what we have seen there aren’t any black-owned supplement companies out there. That is a part of our motivation to sow it can be done. We are 4 young educated black men with families that are trying to secure a financial future for our kids. Three of us Anthony, Justin and myself (Nate) all grew up together we have known each other for over 20 years. Eli came into the picture about 2 years ago, we all actually bonded over family and the love of the gym. Brolic is our brand, our name and our lifestyle. We came together to start something amazing which is a supplement/fitness company. Our signature pre-workout formula took a lot of time and effort to get perfect, over a year’s worth of commitment went into just getting our formulation down. The basis behind us starting a supplement/fitness company is we noticed a lot of junk being sold as Grade A products. We wanted to come in a show what we can do naturally and how our products and fitness programs will do the job and get people to where they want to be.

Our individual stories are similar but also unique to each of us, here is a little about all of us.

Nate- Since I could remember I’ve been the “skinny kid” growing up. Throughout high school and college, I played football and basketball, I was always crazy athletic, fast, quick, could jump high but I was always small and could never gain weight. I ended up going to school for health and wellness and getting certified as a personal trainer. That’s where it all changed for me, with the knowledge that I had I began to apply it to my life. I went from about 145 pounds to 215 pounds which is where I am currently at. It wasn’t easy but with hard work, dedication and just pure desire I’ve been able to transform my body into something I can be proud of. In my head I will always be that “skinny kid” and that’s why I will never give up on my training.

Anthony- Being a 3 sport athlete in high school and playing competitively in college staying in shape came naturally to me. Most people think sports and fitness are the same but they are completely different. I love sports but fitness and I have a love/hate relationship. I know it’s good for me but I have never like to exercise. Last year when the pandemic hit it became imperative that I was able to control something and the only thing I could control was my health. 4 months of doing HIIT at home while the gyms were closed helped my fitness become a habit. Since December getting is the gym with Nate and having him show me what I can really do has made me fall in love with gym and the whole process. My main goal now is to continue to sculpt my body and prioritize my health.

Justin- As a former athlete staying in shape was always important. Major life-changing events have changed my fitness journey from fun to something I need to do. My reasons for working out are not only for physical relief but also for mental relief as well. I have had some crazy thing happened that caused me to put on unwanted weight, once I realized what I need to do I started but tackling small goals at a time. Over the past year, I have been able to focus and drop over 35 pounds.

Eli- My fitness journey is pretty simple, I played sports growing up but I have always been more into bodybuilding. Being obsessed with looking like the men in all the fitness magazines was my inspiration. I love the process of working out and showing progress. It has been about 10 years since I started really lifting and now it’s not only about how big I can get but also what it does for me with relieving stress.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, we actually started our journey back in 2018. We were working on things under a different company name but things just weren’t clicking. We had trouble getting the formula together for our Pre-workout, we had trouble finding out how to get it manufactured and even coming up with the money to do it all. Eventually, we all just kind of gave up and it faded. The desire to get everything straight never left though, so last year we decided to rebrand, change our name, our logo, and put maximum effort into this and get it done. 6 months later we were receiving our first shipment of product!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
The name of our company is Brolic Nutrition, we are a supplement/fitness company. Right now we have a custom pre-workout that we have in a few stores and gyms, we should be having a couple other supplements coming out soon. The other part of our business is the fitness side where we do personalized fitness plans for people as well as different programs to follow such as individuals looking to improve their bench press or get bigger arms. We also sell gym and everyday apparel, T-shirts, hats, shorts, tanks, we have tons of options. What sets us apart with the supplements is all of our products are custom made, we work hard to research and put out different products other lines won’t have. With the fitness part, we train insane! the workouts and the way we have them set up is different than what the typical gym-goer will see.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Fitness and supplement aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. I see the industry just getting bigger and bigger which is great because honestly, everyone needs to work out and be healthy. One major thing I can see changing is the increased use of plant-based supplements and protein. Whey protein is good and it does the job but most people don’t even realize they are lactose intolerant. Plant-based protein removes that dairy and provides with the same benefits. Obviously, there will be different diets and fads that go in this industry but those always fade. We don’t plan to fade like that because we have a genuine care and love for fitness and the products that we push out. They actually work!
