Check Out Mjaie Mangus’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mjaie Mangus

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ll never forget the day that I was sitting in class and I heard an Oscar Wilde quote ‘If you give a man a mask, he will tell you the truth.’’ It was in that very moment I knew EXACTLY what I was meant to do with my seemingly destined path, education and passion for helping others.

I learned early on that we can feel like we are the only ones going through something that no one would understand, and that a lot of people fear judgment. This applies to what people would consider positive or negative experiences in their life. It can be something in their past, something in their present, and even something they are considering in their future.

I created a platform where people can share their stories and choose to do so anonymously. As a result, others won’t feel alone in the world (we never are), and it serves as a reflection of truth. We can understand each other, maybe even relate, drop judgment, and perhaps be grateful for our own problems.

But it was when I started interviewing guests anonymously that I couldn’t believe the transformation in them right before my eyes as they shared their truth. It was night and day. They looked different from just hours before; they felt different. Sharing the deepest parts of their souls with the world anonymously freed them because they were dying to tell the truth. Guests continue to reach out to me to share how it has helped them in so many ways.

Secrets keep you sick! The weight of keeping something in wears on us, even if it’s a positive experience that can’t be shared due to fear of judgment. We can’t be our authentic selves and feel separated, different. But yet, we all have a story—every single one of us. I’m not sure who it benefits most: the guest or the listeners. At the very least, we get to experience the point of view of someone we will never get to know otherwise, who returns and blends right back into society never to be detected in the roles they play.

People who find out who I am and what I do immediately open up to me even if I’m standing at a grocery line. They know I hold a nonjudgmental space and that’s what I stand for. I will go to the grave carrying the confessions and secrets people have opened up to me with and I will do that with all the love in my heart.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I am the first one judged and I am absolutely OK with that. The expression I offer to the world may not be what others necessarily approve of.

Struggles have only proven to me how much I want what it is that I feel I have a responsibility to follow through with in this lifetime. My gifts and talents are only experienced through me being authentic to myself.

The breakthrough I experienced was accepting that I am the vessel that I am and I am here to serve and to not care what others think.

I am not for everyone.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a life and intimacy coach. I am a columnist for Runway TV. I am the host of the LOVE AND LIES PODCAST. I am an expressionist (artist).

I feel people are drawn to me mostly because of my confidence; some love to hate me even.

What I hope people know me for most is my message to be true to yourself and not give a f*ck what others think. BE YOU. And what I am most proud of is not giving up. I’d rather fall flat on my face in front of the world than live with not trying. That is absolutely something I can not live with.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
There are so many people who have played a role in my success. We can’t do it on our own; there are too many intricate moving parts and moments. We don’t reach success without others along the way.

I am most grateful for those who have believed in me or even just trusted that I know what I am doing. Some people I have never met personally but have been supporters through social media. Some of the people who have been closest to me ended up not being real supporters at all. And I can’t forget to mention the haters…

I would like to mention Lori, Michelle, Min, E. Michelle, and Jeff. These people know who they are, and I thank God for them.

Time alone with God and the universe.
