Check Out Mark Brathwaite’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Brathwaite. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Mark Brathwaite is an acclaimed hip-hop artist and producer originally from Toronto, Canada. He is known for producing French Montana, Wizkid, Kardinal Offishall, and SonReal with a duo called Burd & Keyz. He has headlined Canadian Music Week, and the TD Jazz Festival, and opened for Machine Gun Kelly as well as The Trews.

Other career highlights include a collaboration with Columbia Records artist Coleman Hell, releasing his debut album Phoenix and featuring his singles “Rain” and “Sunrise” on MTV Online / VH1 Soul.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve encountered plenty of challenges, often gaining major label attention without receiving the support required to produce content on a larger scale. I’ve created the landing page www.collabuniverse.com which will later launch an app to help artists and industry personnel to grow their careers and gain the support of larger organizations.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a producer and artist, I am most proud of headlining Canadian Music Week, being an industry expert for Indie Week, and opening / producing for Machine Gun Kelly. I’m extremely proud of producing original content for myself and other artists over the years. Presently, I work as a front-end web developer for the federal government in Canada. I’m extremely proud of my work in the IT field as well. My dev site is www.mcbwebdev.com.

We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I co-produced “50” by Machine Gun Kelly and French Montana with the duo Burd & Keyz. We also made “Reppin for my City” by Kardinal Offishall featuring Wizkid. I opened for The Trews for the “Festival of Friends” in 2019 (Hamilton, Ontario).
