Hi Maria, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
The first time I made cake pops was in October 2019. I made Halloween cake pops for my daughters, and they told me that I should do a web page and start a business. I was afraid of doing it, since I was not an expert, so I started selling them to friends and family, and at the same time, I was taking classes from experts and learning different techniques and tricks. Making cake pops is a challenge, but most of all, it’s a lot of patience that you have to put in. I got so frustrated a lot of times, but I kept trying and never gave up. I started following a lot of bakers, and last year, when the pandemic started, most of them moved their classes to online classes, so I joined them and learned more than what I expected.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest challenge has been finding customers. I have being promoting my business on Instagram and Facebook, but a lot of people doesn’t know what cake pops are or they think they’re expensive, but people don’t see how much work and dedication is behind each cake pop.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I consider myself a baker, I love to bake and create at the same time and making it look realistic. When you see it on a picture it’s the most satisfying thing, and getting a text from your customers letting you know that everyone loved your desserts makes you to want to keep going and improve your work every day!

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
When I finish one of my creations that makes me really happy and makes me feel proud of myself. And getting messages from my customers saying that they love them.
