Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcio Da Silva
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started by assembling furniture in my own home, using some old tools I found while setting up our first house. Over time, people began asking for my help to assemble their furniture and do other small tasks. That’s when I thought, why not turn this into a source of income for me and my family?
I decided to promote my services online. I posted a few ads on the internet and started using social media and apps to reach more people. What stood out the most for me was my first job outside my home: assembling a children’s playground. It was a large project, and it took me two days to finish. When I completed it and saw the joy on the kids’ faces as they played and thanked me, something clicked.
At that moment, I realized that not only could I work doing something I truly enjoy, but I could also support my family and bring happiness to others. It was a very rewarding experience.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like any beginning, it wasn’t easy. When I first started offering my services in the area, I didn’t know anyone who could give me support or guidance. So, I had to learn everything on my own exploring apps, browsing websites, and figuring things out as I went. I ended up losing money on ads and apps because I didn’t know how to use or configure them properly.
On top of that, I faced the language barrier. At the time, I didn’t speak English as well as I do now. Dealing with my shyness and other obstacles along the way wasn’t easy, but little by little, I made progress. Today, I can confidently say that we are overcoming those challenges.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Today, I have a company that provides general assembly services. We handle everything from small furniture to large structures, including outdoor kitchens. We also have partnerships with companies that supply gazebos, pergolas, and playsets. I have friends who work for me, and my wife manages another part of the business: we also offer housecleaning services.
It brings me joy to be able to employ people, give others opportunities, and fulfill our clients’ needs. Customers want a job well done, with guarantees and safety. We deliver the service just the way they want it, in the way we agreed upon.
Any big plans?
I have some plans and am awaiting opportunities that will arise soon. I still need to go to job sites occasionally to complete installations. I want to have more time to manage and oversee the business. Since I started, I believe I’ve worked with five different partners, teaching them everything I learned without ever charging them for it. Now, they each have their own companies and careers, and they can provide for their families and employ others.
I believe I have a calling to manage and oversee operations more, without needing to be physically present on-site.
