Today we’d like to introduce you to Madeleine Elizabeth.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Extra Extra Publishing House was conceived of in 2022. I was querying my first novel in what is known as ‘the trenches’ and simply put; the more I learned about the traditional publishing industry, the less I wanted to be a part of it. Setting off on my own was the only path that felt right and rewarding.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Regarding the writing, the books, the creativity of it all – that has been an easy road. I know the caliber of books I am looking to have in the Extra Extra catalogue; they are reverent to the classics, intentional, and thorough in execution. The only struggles have been the same as any new endeavor and that is the learning curve of a new skill set, new systems, new rules, regulations; all the nitty gritty details that go into owning a business in this day and age. There are so many new costs and expenses that go beyond the basic formation of an LLC or corporation.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Extra Extra Publishing House is premised on the readers who want and writers who are “extra, extra.” Sometimes readers want a quick, accessible book to escape into on the weekend and other times they want a world to swim in over the course of a month. Our books cater to the latter. Likewise, some authors thrive on writing the first kind of book but not all. Those are the “extra, extra” authors. They are the names and artists we are looking to work with. They have spent a meticulous amount of time peppering in easter eggs for readers to find on a second pass, they have found ways of crafting a sentence so as to add a dozen different meanings to it, their subtext it just that: subtle and textured. Nonetheless, they have a point, a message, and through the gentle guidance of well crafted plot, you will unearth it chapter by chapter. As stated on our website, we are here to champion books that remind us life is a metaphor.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
We have two titles under our belt at this point. Castle Witch released in April of 2023 and the story is a slow burn, closed door, cozy, romantic fantasy. Our next is arriving in September of 2025. This new title, Journey Man, is best described as a dark, urban fantasy for the occult adult.
