Check Out Lex Chavez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lex Chavez. Them and their team share their story with us below:

1%ER Athletics started in 2020 during the Covid lockdown. A group of soccer players that played in the local men’s rec leagues together since 2016 needed a place to workout out and owner Josue Murillo was head trainer at a local weightless center at the time and had access to a gym when nowhere was open.

Add in Soccer Teammates/Trainers Michael Gallardo and owner Lex Chavez who were doing freelance videography and soccer training. 1%ER Athletics Began. Soccer Teammates as well as the local community have supported us greatly and we aim to do the same and vice versa!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not. We are technically in our second year at our own official location.

So growing pains, to say the least but we now feel we have the team, mission, and vision that we want going into the future. Our focus is completely back on pushing our clients towards success in their fitness and life goals by setting the prime example and going through the journey together with them. This way our community truly grows stronger together.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are a personal Training Private Gym that also offers select group classes and soccer training.

More than half of our Trainers played Collegiate Soccer at a very high level and still play currently for the semi-pro team FC Arizona. So aside from people knowing us for getting them fitness results we are known for futbol as well.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Winning 6 Arizona State Soccer Championships in a Row is Probably what I’m most proud of and sort of engulfs a lot of memories into one sentence.
