Check Out Kristen Wood’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Wood.

Kristen, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin? 
Nearly ten years ago, I started a food blog as a place to combine my passions for both cooking and photography. Today, I run several income-generating websites and write for several major publications. I would say I got here through sheer perseverance!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I find that making mistakes and acquiring skills are intrinsically linked. I would not have the confidence and knowledge I have today if I had not made many mistakes along the way and taught myself how to resolve them.

Additionally, as was the case at the start of my journey, if you cannot afford to hire help, you have no choice but to figure things out! Thanks to these obstacles, I am well-versed in everything from CSS and HTML to marketing and graphic design.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I run several websites that I built from the ground up entirely on my own. My first and most popular site is my food blog, MOON and spoon and yum. Since then, I’ve created websites for several of my other passions, including travel, gardening, and gaming.

I’m most proud of achieving my dreams and what I set out to do. I went from getting groceries at the food bank to fully supporting my family and earning an income I never thought possible. If you believe in yourself and stick with things even when they are difficult, amazing things can happen!

What does success mean to you?
I feel successful when I can step back and say that I am grateful for my life and how I spend my time.
