Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Grear.

Hi Katie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was a female, in a males world, looking for a micro tattoo that wouldn’t be huge! I had a lot of bad tattoo experiences, I had enough tattoos laser removed to learn my lesson and do some more research, but was struggling to find a tattoo shop that felt welcoming for me to go to. After coming up short, I came across a fine line website and decided to take the leap and train/apprentice. A year later, I opened up my own take of a modernized tattoo shop where we specialize in fine line and single needle tattoos! At inked and bound we offer a safe place for you to come to get tattooed as small as you’d like, exactly how you’d like it! We are completely female owned and ran, and are excited to also offer services besides tattoos, such as permanent jewelry, tooth gems, facials, waxing, piercings and more! I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Learning how to be a good tattoo artist was a huge investment, a lot of practice, and a ton of reading up on running a business, managing a business, and growing a business! I wasn’t a born entrepreneur, but I’m a growing one, every day!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am most known for my floral work, which is what i specialize in and love the most! But because we use single needles, everything we offer is fine line and very delicate!

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
We are also very excited to announce the launch of our Fine Line & Tiny Tattoo Academy, where we offer a safe and clean space to train and get certified on fine line tattoos, become and apprentice and also offer a space for our students to work at until they’re ready to venture off!
