Hi Junior, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi my name is Jr, also known as “Pyroh”. I am originally from Long Beach, CA where I was born and raised, and I am 26 years old. My music journey started while I was serving in the United States Marine Corps back in 2019. I’ve always had a passion and love for music since I was young. Some of my biggest inspirations are J Cole, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Dr Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, and Kanye West. However, what surprisingly got me started on creating music was EDM. Me and my close friends in the Corps used to love going to raves or clubs and just have a great time. The first DAW I started with was FL Studio and I would do EDM song remixes. From there I wanted to expand my skills and start making beats. The first producer I would watch videos on was T-Minus. He is known for being one of J Cole’s producers, and J Cole is my biggest inspiration. Towards the end of my active duty service, I decided that I wanted to pursue music full time. So I got out of the Marine Corps in 2021 and studied at The Los Angeles Film School for a year and a half where I would earn my Associate of Science in Music Production. I learned a lot about music there, but the most important lesson to me was to put in your 10,000 hours. Meaning time and effort towards your craft. I’ve spent countless hours in Logic Pro creating good music, bad music, getting frustrated, getting excited, all of the above. As the late great Nipsey Hussle once said, “I went through every emotion with tryna pursue what I’m doing”. It has not been an easy journey. But I am grateful for all the failures, successes, and opportunities that have come my way so far. Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Some of my struggles were financial issues, relationships, and just life in general.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in West Coast Hip Hop, Boom Bap, and Trap music. I can do all genres but those are my most well known ones. Also I’m not only a producer but an Artist as well. I can produce, mix, master, and record tracks by myself.

How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happy is being able to wake up everyday and do what I love, and be around people I love.
