Check Out Judith Coronel’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Judith Coronel.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Originally from Chicago, I moved to Arizona 12 years ago and we haven’t looked back. When my family and I moved here, we wanted to stay close to my sister who lived in surprise. We lived there for about 3 months but quickly fell in love with Goodyear and all it had to offer. I can’t imagine ever living anywhere else.

I have always been a Jill of all trades and never shied away from an opportunity to learn something new. I believe a lot of this has to do with having a very creative mom. I grew up with the expression “I can make that” from her anytime we would ask for anything new. My mom was a hard worker raising my sister and me mostly on her own, I remember her at times having 2 jobs while attending college. She has been and always will be my role model.

Coming from an event background I had the opportunity to meet a lot of different vendors in the event industry, but none have caught my attention like laser engravers. Once I saw how a laser ran and could cut intricate detail into the most delicate of wood, I was hooked. Recently my friends started showing me new personalized cutting boards and lightweight unique earrings, I quickly thought to myself… “I could make that!” this is how La Garza Engraving came to fruition.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As with any new business, I feel that mindset is one of the biggest hurdles any new entrepreneur faces.

I have been lucky enough to have a great group of amazing friends and business professionals I have met over the years who have been so very supportive. I also joined a local networking group which has provided so many new opportunities to show what I can do.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
La Garza Engraving specializes in engraved wood projects and unique custom gifts. We are most known right now for our obsession with Pickleball and have been making our rounds at all the local tournaments as well as having a small display at Rays Rackets in Sun City and at Armour/Topp Pickleball in Peoria. I am hoping to have the opportunity to make custom gifts for local coffee shops and other small businesses like mine around the valley. I am most proud of all of our relationships with our customers and other business owners who trusted us to make their custom projects come to life.

Having had extensive training in the hospitality industry I know just how important customer service and satisfaction are, I truly value my relationships with everyone I meet and if I have the opportunity to meet someone in person I have a habit of getting a bit chatty. For me it’s not just about the one-time transaction – of course, I want my business to do well but I want to get to know you and be the person you trust with important gifts for those that you care about and want to impress.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Genuine interest in my clients I feel is my best quality and is the most important. I never want anyone to feel like they are just a transaction to me. I support my family with my business and I have all my clients to thank for that opportunity.
