Check Out Jonathan Lawson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Lawson.

Jonathan Lawson

Hi Jonathan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey began with a strong foundation in psychology, earning a B.A. from the University of Arizona followed by a Master’s in Education from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. While my academic background gave me a deep understanding of people, it was my passion for real estate that ultimately shaped my career path.

I’ve had the privilege of helping clients across the spectrum—luxury buyers and sellers, investors, and first-time homeowners—navigate the Arizona market. Each client represents a unique story, and I take great pride in providing guidance, dedication, and accessibility throughout the entire process. For me, real estate is more than transactions; it’s about building lasting relationships and helping people achieve their goals.

When I’m not working with clients, I enjoy traveling, skiing, spending time with family and friends, and supporting the Phoenix Suns. Arizona has always been home, and it’s incredibly rewarding to help others find their dream property here.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This business definitely comes with its challenges, and I’ve faced my fair share of them. I’ve had deals fall through just before closing, and I’ve even rolled up my sleeves to help a seller move out when things didn’t go as planned. No two transactions are ever the same, and that’s what keeps real estate both exciting and humbling.

What I’ve learned is that it’s not about avoiding challenges — it’s about how you respond to them. Every setback is an opportunity to adapt, grow, and find a solution for the client. At the end of the day, I truly love what I do, and even with the ups and downs, I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’ve been fortunate to build a career in real estate here in Arizona, helping people with everything from first homes to investment properties and even luxury homes. What I really enjoy is being part of such an important step in people’s lives — it never feels routine, because every client and every situation is unique.

I try to make myself available and dependable, because I know buying or selling a home can feel overwhelming, and having someone you can count on makes a difference.

Outside of real estate, I spend most of my time with family and friends. I love to travel, ski, and I’m a big Suns fan. Before real estate, I studied psychology at the University of Arizona and later earned a Master’s in Education, which I think taught me a lot about patience, listening, and understanding people — skills that have carried over into real estate.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Finding a mentor in real estate has been one of the most valuable steps in my growth. The industry can feel overwhelming when you’re starting out — contracts, negotiations, marketing, clients, and market cycles all moving at once. Having a mentor who has already walked that path gives you perspective you can’t get from a textbook or a class.
