Check Out Jermaine Grier’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jermaine Grier.

Jermaine Grier

Hi Jermaine, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started in the church from youth choir, skits, plays, and the same in school through college. I began to write music and collaborate with other artist as well as got signed to a theater agency doing many plays beyond college. I joined improv groups, continued to take classes, perform, and eventually formed my own production company- Jay Gee Productionz, which includes films, skits, videography, and record label.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Struggles of self-doubt and resources have always been present. Comparison to others, feeling that your passion is over-saturated and that others can do it better is a false narrative that I believed at times. With comparing myself to social media, television, etc, sometimes made me feel that my talents were irrelevant, but as I continued to grow spiritually and mentally, I overcome those doubts and encourage others to do the same. We all have something unique to offer that only we can do, and that is special.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have approximately 20 years of banking experience, ranging from teller, teller manager, personal banker, call center banking, tech support, operations, training facilitation, etc. I’m known for thinking outside of the box and implementing innovation.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
To believe in yourself!!! I believe in the Bible, and I truly believe that I can do All things through Christ, who strengthens me. There will always be opposition, but do not allow it to be negative; turn opposition into something positive that makes you stronger. Expose yourself to consistent positivity in what you’re trying to accomplish via YouTube, social media, podcast etc. There is something special and unique that only you can do, and don’t take that for granted. Believe there is purpose in what you have; you’re wonderfully and uniquely made, somebody needs what you have.
