Check Out Jasmine Hoang’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Hoang

Hi Jasmine, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always been ambitious and strived to take on leadership positions to enable me to make a positive impact on my community. I’ve always been passionate about community and dreams which inevitably led me to taking on several leadership positions in my life. I’ve attained many pageant titles including Miss Vietnam Ultimate Elite 2024. Additionally, I have been elected into positions such as the historically youngest secretary in the Vietnamese Community of Arizona and President of a local non profit called Asian Performance Inclusive Dance Diversity (APIDD) which is an arts and entertainment organization that specializes in modeling, acting, dance, and vocal all while educating others on Asian culture. Knowing that I cannot make change without having credibility, I have always practiced what I’ve preached and continue to work hard every day from the ground up and build a background that others can trust and believe in. Coming from an immigrant family, I watched and understood how people such as my own family came into the States with nothing but the clothes on their backs and managed to become successful and create the life they want through hard work and resilience. Inspired by my parents, I navigate through life radiating this overwhelming faith that everyone can reach their dreams. The values that I have honored in my life that have got me this far is loyalty, authenticity, charisma, and heart-of-gold-mentality. HOG mentality is the sense that I should live with pure intentions and never react in a manner that could cause harm to others but rather can only help others. It has been difficult since having kindness means there will be hundreds of people that take advantage of it or cross me for their own gain. Nevertheless, I continue to live with virtue knowing that the good I put out in the world is influencing and helping others. Additionally, I’ve pursued higher education to a University level with the intention to get a Juris Doctor. I currently have a Bachelors of Science in Legal Studies with a minor in Dance. I also hold several certificates such as the foundational principles of leadership From Harvard University Online and my Socio-legal Certificate from Arizona State University. My ultimate goal is to establish a business of my own that will be here to support and encourage future generations to pursue their dreams while maintaining a good heart and love for others. Today, I am still continuing my education, practicing community service, and actively cultivating my crafts in the arts and entertainment field. I work with the City and am also a performer: Vocal, Dance, Modeling, & Acting. You can find me nearly everywhere since one day I am performing as a Disney Princess and the next I am leading an Anti-Asian Hate Rally at the Arizona State Capitol. I choose to live wholeheartedly and choose to be a much needed role model for the younger generation.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been easy. I don’t come from a family full of riches so I had to help my family at a young age learning how to do things such as reception work, nails, and of course a popular immigrant child responsibility: translating for the parents. I didn’t have a similar childhood to those of my peers, but I do not regret any second of it. As I became older and gained unshakable confidence, I realized that I was seen as someone with a very strong energy. This meant people either loved me or hate me right off the bat. I would often makes friends that would later see me as some kind of competition and entered business meetings where no one had respect for me since I was so young. I often heard this same line over and over in my community work: “you’re just a little girl”. Since my sense of justice has always been so strong, I’ve always ended up discovering corruption in nonprofit organizations that I would join. Of course, they all had beautiful images that they would portray, but then you dive deeper and find that community leaders were pocketing charity money, many engaged in sexual harassment of women and minors, and the most important thing: many leaders used their money and power to change the narrative and hide the truth. Being someone who set out to change the community, it meant I had t uproot corruption and cultivate unity. That makes me an enemy to all corrupted community figures. Those who I have exposed for corruption would join together and use their money and power to attempt to silence me. Whether it be plastering thousands of magazine articles slandering my name, hunting for my business blueprints and selling it off to a bigger corporation, or threatening my family. Many people have even gone as far as framing me for situations and claims that never related to me or entering my place of work or education to convince those around me to see me as some kind of demon. Some organizations poison the minds of younger children and manipulate them to do their dirty work for them. For instance, I once had to have personal security for events because children and teenagers were threatening to stab and kill me under the cover for a corrupted organization. I work with a lot of political organizations as well as community organizations so meeting figures such as the mayor, governor, or other significant individuals became common for me. These experiences helped me step closer to my goal each day, but it’s not easy. I am still a single person pushing for a large scale change of kindness, empathy, and the search of dream chasers. Despite everything people throw at me or try to stop me, I remain on my path with my goals in sight.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Some people know me from the community as “Empress” or “Jahsminetea” as these are my stage/performer names. I have always enjoyed the arts and entertainment and found that I thrived on audience-based platforms. This led me to doing runway modeling, commercial modeling, professional dance, acting, and vocal performance. I get booked all over the globe to MC for events or be a performer. Some notable works I’ve done is Mceeing in Merpeople on Netflix, Competing in Beast Games on Amazon Prime, and holding 3 pageantry titles. I believe that this is the age of social media and networking therefore I have found to have impacted hundreds of people through arts and entertainment. I am most proud of the fact that I’ve inspired others to follow in my footsteps and not be led astray by the toxicity that floods our community through social media. It’s not an easy time when lies and hate are easily tossed around. But knowing I am able to help people through my arts, it makes me feel amazing.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I felt like I had to navigate through life by myself most of the time since my parents were occupied trying to make sure that my brother and I had a safe and comfortable home to live in. So I always sought out mentors to help me grow. Learning is one of my passions and I owe all of growth to everyone I encounter. We may not realize this much, but we are all made up of a little bit of everyone and everything we experience. Some special shout outs for me would be all my clients from my Department of Child Safety job. Yes, they were all parents and children with difficult circumstances. They taught me perseverance. I thank my officers from the Phoenix Police Cadet Program. They taught me integrity and controlling my emotions. I especially thank my bullies and anyone who has ever tried to tear me down. They have taught me how to be confident of my pure heart, forgiveness of others, and empathy for the wicked.

Personal gratitude will always go to my parents, my ancestors, myself, and God.
