Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaimy Wylie.
Hi Jaimy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I actually got into doing hair a little by accident. I was studying Animal Science at Michigan State, but I’d always been creative. My hairstylist told me I had a natural eye and offered to train me while I worked toward my cosmetology license. Once I finished at MSU, I decided to follow that path.
After getting my license, I moved to Chicago and trained under one of the top colorists in the industry. I built a thriving business there, but I was craving more inspiration—and a bigger version of myself. That’s when I moved to Scottsdale and found my home at Bespoke Salon, working under Jay Olsen. I grew, I thrived, and I felt more aligned with my craft than ever.
I’ve always loved helping women feel like the best version of themselves. What started as a random pivot became this intentional world I’ve built—where everything is custom, elevated, and designed to make my clients feel powerful and seen. I specialize in color and extensions, and within a year of moving here, I was fully booked three months out through social media and referrals.
I truly love what I do.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Moving to Arizona and starting completely over was definitely a challenge. I had to rebuild my entire clientele from scratch, which was scary. In the beginning, it was slow, so I got creative—I’d invite women to spend the day with me at the salon, do their color, and use that time to take tons of photos and create content. Social media honestly became my biggest tool in growing my business here.
I also started my career pretty insecure about my work and my place in the industry. But training with some of the best artists, pushing myself, and staying open to growth helped me develop real confidence in my skills. Every challenge ended up shaping me into the artist I am now.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in color, blonding, and hair extensions—those are the areas I’m best known for. I’m really proud of the business I’ve built and the reputation I’ve earned in this industry. I’ve been named one of Modern Salon’s Top 100 Artists, and I’ve placed in the Top 100 eight times in the Behind The Chair One Shot Awards.
What sets me apart is how personal and intentional I am with every transformation. I don’t just do hair—I create looks that feel aligned with each client’s energy, lifestyle, and vision. My goal is always the same: help women walk out feeling elevated, confident, and like the most magnetic version of themselves.
What are your plans for the future?
Looking ahead, I want to continue growing my business and expanding the partnerships I have with professional color and extension brands. I’m also focusing on growing my social media platforms in a way that feels authentic and allows me to monetize my work more sustainably.
A big goal of mine is to start teaching—traveling around the country and sharing the techniques, experience, and creative approach that have shaped my career. I’m excited for this next chapter and the opportunities it’ll bring.
