Check Out Houston Towe’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Houston Towe.

Hi Houston, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Child actor Houston Towe, age 11, started acting at age 7. During our last interview, he had completed season 5 of Animal Kingdom’s TNT. Since then, he has co-starred in Paramount Plus’ reboot of iCarly playing young Freddie. He also featured in his biggest role, playing Otis Van Wirt in season two, episode one of Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Stories on HULU. His episode is called Dollhouse. Additionally, he played a supporting role in the upcoming Rob Schnieder movie, Daddy Daughter Trip, which releases in local Harkins Theaters on September 30th. He continues to train and audition and is making his way up the ladder in Hollywood.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been too bad. Covid put a hamper on things, but we managed. Houston has come pretty close to booking some pretty big projects. He has made it to the final selection several times and has not booked. Rejection is big in this industry, and you must have thick skin. Luckily, Houston has booked some good projects, so the rejection is a little easier.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Houston is a child actor and has been acting for four years; He has been successful and can book good parts on some very good TV shows; Houston is very smart and has been told he is a natural actor. He loves comedy, but dramas are his strong point. So far, American Horror Stories has been his biggest role yet, and he was listed 3rd in credit billing. It may sound small, but it is a huge deal where you are placed in the credits.

Do you have any advice for those just starting?
Be persistent. Acting is very competitive, and the odds are stacked against you. Keep training, improve yourself, get used to rejection and enjoy life. You can always take a break when it gets too crazy or hectic. You have to take care of yourself first.
