Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabby.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I never set out to be a photographer, at least not in the traditional sense. I just knew I wanted to help people see themselves differently. Growing up, I watched the women around me play small, avoid the camera, and dim their light. And for a while, I did too. But when I picked up a camera and started capturing people the way I saw them, beautiful, strong, and worthy, it clicked. That was the moment I knew this was more than just photography.
Now I run a luxury portrait studio in downtown Gilbert where I give people, especially women, the kind of experience that makes them fall in love with themselves again. From hair and makeup to wardrobe styling to guided posing and gorgeous, printed artwork; they get the full celebrity treatment. My clients often tell me they’ve never felt this beautiful in their lives, and honestly that’s what keeps me going.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Building my photography business wasn’t a walk in the park. I started with limited resources, teaching myself the ropes while balancing family life and financial constraints. There were moments of doubt, burnout, and the ever-persistent imposter syndrome whispering, “Who do you think you are?”
But each challenge became a stepping stone. I understood firsthand the insecurities many women feel in front of the camera. This empathy drives me to create a space where clients feel seen, celebrated, and empowered.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a luxury portrait photographer and I specialize in creating a “model for a day” experience that empowers people (especially women) to finally love how they look in their photos. I blend high-fashion styling with heartfelt connection, guiding each client through professional hair and makeup, wardrobe styling, posing, and beautifully retouched imagery that looks like it came straight from a magazine.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just take pictures, I create transformations. My clients often come to me feeling awkward or insecure, and by the time we’re done, they walk away seeing themselves in a whole new light. I’m most proud of that shift: the moment someone looks at their image and says, “That’s really me?”
I’ve built a space where people feel safe, celebrated, and seen. And in a world that’s constantly telling women they’re not enough, I think that’s pretty powerful.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something surprising most people don’t know about me is that I’m from the Dominican Republic. I moved to the U.S. when I was 10 years old, thanks to my grandmother who came here over 40 years ago and paved the way for our family to follow. I’m incredibly proud to be Latina. My roots and upbringing shaped so much of my drive, my creativity, and the heart I pour into my business.
