Check Out Evie Isabella’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Evie Isabella.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story began in the Midwest where life was structured, predictable, and often quiet in ways that left a lot unsaid. I grew up in a big family— four brothers, a lot of noise, and not much space for softness. I quickly became someone who watched closely, felt deeply, and looked for meaning in the things that were left unsaid. In my teen years and into my early 20’s, I chased perfection like it was my lifeline. I measured myself against impossible standards, exhausting every ounce of myself trying to be flawless and fit a mold that I wasn’t made for. Over time, as I grounded myself and grew into who I truly am, I learned to value presence and authenticity over flawlessness, and shifted toward valuing what’s genuine, even when it’s complicated, flawed, and unpolished.

Arizona became home when I moved here for college. I graduated from ASU and spent over seven years working in the nonprofit space. It was heart-centered work that allowed me to pour into causes that truly mattered. I was full of energy, passion, and purpose, always striving to make an impact through connection.

Then came motherhood, which shifted everything. It slowed me down in the best way. I learned patience, presence, and how to show myself grace, especially as my body changed in ways I had never experienced before. That season gave me a new level of appreciation for both physical and mental health. It also opened the door to becoming a personal trainer and wellness coach, working primarily with postpartum moms — helping them reconnect with their bodies, strength, and sense of self. It was some of the most rewarding work I’ve done.

But not everything was visible on the outside. Alongside the joy were quiet moments of unraveling — heartbreaks, losses, identity shifts that left me unsure of who I was becoming. And then came illness. Misdiagnosed, ongoing, and draining. It wore me down physically and emotionally, and forced me to pause completely.

That stillness gave way to clarity. I began to recognize a pattern: every season of breaking had also held a seed of becoming. That realization became the heartbeat of in bloom: the art of becoming — a poetry collection shaped by three seasons I’ve lived and written through: withering, grounding, rising and blooming. Each piece captures how I have fallen apart and slowly found my way back to myself — more whole, more honest, and more rooted in myself each time.

My story isn’t linear. It’s layered, evolving, and deeply human. And at every stage, whether I was in motion or forced into stillness, I’ve come back to the same truth: there is art in becoming, even when the process is very much imperfect. We must embrace progress, not perfection, and always remember that in the end, all we have is ourselves.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My road to my own becoming has been highly imperfect and there have been plenty of struggles along the way — moments of heartbreak, loss, physical and emotional pain, as well as deep uncertainty that shook me to my core. Navigating chronic illness was one of the hardest challenges I faced; it took a toll not just on my body, but on my spirit and sense of self. At times, I felt completely unmoored, unsure of who I was or who I was becoming.

But those struggles also became the spaces where I learned to slow down, listen, and rebuild. Each hardship forced me to confront my vulnerabilities and redefine what strength really means. The journey has not been easy, but it’s been deeply transformative — teaching me resilience, patience, and the art of coming back to myself again and again.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the author of in bloom: the art of becoming, a collection of poetry that explores the cycles of breaking down and rebuilding — withering, grounding, rising and blooming. My work is deeply rooted in personal transformation and healing, born from my own experiences with life, love, and loss to motherhood, chronic illness, and the fierce journey to reclaim my truth.

My writing explores the raw, tender, and often unspoken moments of transformation — those times when life feels undone, but also full of possibility. My intention with the book was ideally to create a space where readers can see their own struggles reflected and feel encouraged to embrace their personal process of growth and renewal.

I think what I am most proud of is witnessing how in bloom has connected with people who feel invisible or stuck. It is so rewarding when I get a chance to hear the way the book impacted someone on a deeply personal level, and was a catalyst for their own growth or realization. To me, that is so powerful, simply knowing that my words have offered a sense of belonging and a reminder that breaking down can be the start of becoming. I encourage all of my readers to take a pause to stop, and identify which stage of healing they are in, and to have grace with the very imperfect process of growth.

At its core, my work is a testament to resilience, and a reminder that even in our hardest seasons, we have the capacity to rise and bloom into who we are truly meant to be.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is living in alignment with who I truly am. Being my authentic self in the way I speak, create, love, and move through the world is something I fought very hard to reclaim. For too long, I folded myself into shapes that weren’t mine, and placed other people’s expectations, my own perfectionism, and who I thought I needed to be above being rooted in who I truly am. The most freeing, grounding shift came when I started choosing truth over image, presence over performance, and progress over perfection.

Authenticity isn’t about being flawless, it’s about being honest. And that’s where real connection, healing, and purpose began for me — when I started to show up just as I am.
