Today we’d like to introduce you to Esam Morsy.

Hi Esam, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After graduating from college, I worked for a cosmetic factory. Since that time, I became very fond of the products, the raw materials, the formulations, the manufacture, and packaging, etc.

Five years later, in 1990 I started my own business at CITA International, LLC and still running to this date. Since then, I have published several books on the cosmetic industry and CITA has been the supplier of over 500 different skin and hair products that are been circulated in this country and abroad under different labels.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With experience, patience, research, study, trial, and error, we can tackle challenges and render obstacles doable and smooth. Hard-to-tackle conundrums unavoidably happen and often endure.

Some of the issues we have to face including financial, administrative, technical, and marketing can be overcome with the same tools when adorned with perseverance and the determination to stay in business and keep the machines running.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a chemist. My specialty is the formulation of products applied topically on skin and hair for beautification and general health. After discussing the demands and prerequisites of each potential product with the customer, my mind goes wandering in the heaps of formulas and patents looking for one or a dozen of applicable recipes. I start to prepare active ingredients and other raw materials to make the appropriate embodiment of the anticipated preparation. A few days, a few weeks, and less often a few months later, a product is born. At this stage, the product is only suitable to show the customer. After a reasonable period of testing and evaluation, the product-to-be is undergone testing and release for production, quality control, packaging, and marketing.

Our company is a niche, one of a kind. We like challenges; we like to create products that are functional and multifunctional. We like to create products that are not too simple; products that are represented by formulations with unique ingredients and effective chemistries. One of our specialties that gained nationwide respect is our Progesterone Cream, which regardless of the label you have, is most likely a brand we manufacture.

Our service is friendly and speedy, but our prices are very competitive and still in the old-school domain.

What were you like growing up?
I grew up in Egypt interested in all forms of art. I liked drawing, classical music, and cooking.

Somehow, I managed to amalgamate all the above arts with a chemistry degree from George Washington and Arizona State Universities. Chemistry, musical and culinary interests helped me become the beauty product chemist that I am today.
