Hi Darrell, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve been writing or preforming music since the age of 16. As a ghostwriter and artist I’ve been able to understand music and the different stages. I have a very unique outlook on life and the pain that comes with it. I catalog and turn my pain into music. I work with many artists of all genres producers as well. I am part of the Chatsongroy Artist Community we band together as artists for support feedback and a safe space.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have lost it all just to gain clarity many times over. I had to understand true sacrifice. Here is the part they don’t tell you. No one believes in your dream until you make it work. By this time the closest people to you will have become distant memories. Of an old version of you from outdated time line. So embracing the change and understanding those who don’t change get left behind. Evolution is key however it will show you versions of people you that you can never unsee.

Dsplita (also known as Dlynn Carter) is an independent underground hip-hop artist, creator, and writer. Based out of Houston, he is recognized for his raw, intricate lyricism and atmospheric production that deliberately stays away from commercial clichés.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?

I only know hard work dedication and consistency. These are my friends that help me get to where I am today. Everyone has their time but will they be ready and willing? I’ve went from married to single and a lot in between and dedication above all. Keeps me consistent and evolving.
