Check Out Courtney Folk’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Folk

Hi Courtney, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have always loved caring for others even from a young age and knew I wanted to be in healthcare. I started in the healthcare field at 16-years-old as a Certified Nursing Assistant at my small-town nursing home in South Dakota. I enjoyed working at the nursing home and took a course after I turned 18 to become an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel which allowed me to administer some medications. I decided to transition out of the nursing home in 2019 and became an Emergency Medical Technician. I worked as an Emergency Medical Technician while attending nursing school. I became a Licensed Practical Nurse during COVID in 2020. I worked in the hospital in both emergency room and medical/surgical settings while continuing my education to become a Registered Nurse in 2021. I worked in a rural hospital that always had something unexpected coming in and had nurses with the BEST sense of humor! While being a nurse is rewarding and difficult at the same time, I knew I wasn’t done with my journey. I decided to go to medical school to become a doctor. First, I had to finish my bachelor’s degree to get all the pre-requisites for medical school, which I did while working full-time at the hospital. The process for getting into medical school is not for the faint of heart, but I will spare those details. I chose Sonoran University of Health Sciences to become a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, which is how I ended up in Arizona. I had struggled to find a job that allowed me the flexibility I needed with my intense schedule, until I found Premium IV Therapy. With Premium IV Therapy, I primarily go on mobile calls and administer an IV individualized based on the client’s goals. Premium IV Therapy has allowed me to work when I can, and I enjoy the work I do!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With all my accomplishments, I have had my fair share of struggles along the way. I could spend all day talking about what I have faced, but I will focus on the big ones. Finances have always been a big struggle for me. The idea of going to college and having debt was very daunting to me. I didn’t want to end up drowning in debt. I was fortunate enough to have earned a full-ride scholarship for both my LPN and RN degrees. I had also worked while going to college so I could cover my basic living expenses. Attending medical school is far more expensive so getting into debt is inevitable, but I am doing what I can to keep my head above water. I am grateful that I am an independent contractor for Premium IV Therapy as it has covered my necessities and allowed me to only take out loans for the cost of tuition. Another struggle I’ve had was learning to balance everything (courses/work/friends/family/house) and take time for myself to reset. This is something that I’ve been working on and have been better at recently. Since moving to AZ, I have discovered a love for hiking and have hiked 85 miles this year so far. Hiking allows me to connect with nature, reset my brain, and gives me supernatural peace. I give credit to Premium IV Therapy for the flexibility of scheduling that allows me to go on a mobile call and hike in the same day. I am blessed in finding Premium IV Therapy because they truly care about my health and wellbeing.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As mentioned previously, I am a Registered Nurse working as an independent contractor for Premium IV Therapy. I primarily go on mobile calls where I bring an IV to the client and sometimes work in the center. Premium IV Therapy is an IV company servicing the East Valley that focuses on high quality vitamins and minerals formulated towards helping clients feel their best though vitamin infusions and weight loss!  As an infusion nurse, I ask the client what their goals are for their appointment and determine the perfect IV based on their goals to maximize the client’s benefits.

I am most proud of the client testimonies. Several clients have told me that Premium IV Therapy’s nutrients are superior to other IV therapy places and have significantly longer lasting benefits. Not only do we have remarkable nutrients, but we also have amazing staff which you can see in Premium IV Therapy’s Google reviews. The owners of Premium IV Therapy, nurses, and our receptionist always get outstanding reviews. I believe kindness and caring also sets Premium IV Therapy apart from the competition. When you choose Premium IV Therapy, you are choosing a team that cares about you. From scheduling your mobile or in-center appointment to receiving a your IV—you will feel that you’re in good hands.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I believe that the quality most important for my success is sincerity. In my experience, if you are sincere, people are appreciative of your honesty and more willing to help you out. Sincerity also reinforces strong relationships and the ability of people to trust you. The more people that trust you, the larger the community of people there are there to support you and refer others to you in your area of expertise. This can only work in my favor and will continue to build me up along my journey.

My career in healthcare has been driven by a passion for caring for others and pursuing excellence. At Premium IV Therapy, I ensure tailored and effective treatments for every client. If you’re looking for an IV therapy nurse who combines expertise with genuine care, look no further. I would be honored to support your journey to better health and wellness.
