Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Whipple.

Chelsea, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hi, I’m Chelsea, your Mesa, AZ Spray Tan artist and the owner of Glow Babe Studio! I started Glow Babe Studio back in 2020 after being laid off from Sephora. I searched and searched to find a job that I would love. I was looking to be inspired by something honestly. I always knew I wanted to work in the beauty industry. I just could never decide on which avenue I wanted to explore. Plus, being a mom of two, I didn’t have the time or funds to go to beauty school.

I loved working at Sephora because I loved helping women feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. I started exploring the Spray Tanning industry and immediately knew that this was for me!

I wasted no time and got right to work! Glow Babe Studio was born overnight. I created an Instagram, I got my Spray Tanning certification and set up my in-home studio!

In just a few short months and lots of word of mouth, Glow Babe Studio keeps me busy!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest struggle for me is learning all the behind-the-scenes stuff of running a business. I’ve had to learn how to build a website, keep appointments organized, become my own social media manager and so much more! It’s all been really fun to learn but difficult because I am truly learning as I go!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Spray Tanning is non-invasive, harmless, quick and lastly, affordable! Clients are in and out within 20 minutes and they walk out feeling renewed and beautiful!

Consider a spray tan a form of skincare. By skipping the laying out, you’re not exposing yourself to sun damage. Which is a real concern in this Arizona sun!

I tell my clients that spray tanning is confidence in a bottle! It’s amazing what a tan can do for you! When I see the smiles and hear the “wow!” when clients step in front of the mirror, tells me every time that I am in this for the right reason! I love helping my clients feel bronzed and beautiful!

I welcome every BODY. I pride myself on making my clients feel comfortable when they’re in my studio. You were flawless when you walked in and you’ll be bronzed and flawless when you leave! When you’re at Glow Babe Studio, you will not apologize for your body. We are all human and there is nothing wrong with any part of you!

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Spray tanning is a fast-growing industry! Women and men are taking the risk of sun damage and skin cancer seriously these days! Spray tanning booths are dying because they don’t spray you evenly. Tanning beds will soon die too because again, people are finally realizing the dangers of lying in a tanning bed. I think many women, like myself, will be joining the spray tan artist community as well!

• $30 for a regular 8-10 hour develop time spray tan
• $33 for a rapid developing tan, 1-4 hours
• $95 for a package of 4 spray tans
