Today we’d like to introduce you to Braiden Crawford.

Braiden, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
When I was little, I always knew I wanted to be an artist. I use to steal tattoo magazines from the corner store so I can try to draw the tattoos that were in them. The thought of being able to wear art on your skin was fascinating to me. I loved to draw but I wasn’t good at all when I started. I just loved it so much that I didn’t give it up. Staying up til the morning every night practicing and practicing , I couldn’t stop honestly it just took over my life,constantly getting in trouble at school because they couldn’t hand me a pencil and paper without me destroying it, all of my homies were artists growing up, so I was surrounded by it, a couple of them had started tattooing, I would go with my homies to peoples houses and watch them tattoo,so when I was 16 my mom got me some tattoo machines for Christmas, shout out to my momma! I never really reached out to someone to learn from , I just had a lot of homies that were down to let me tattoo them even tho I had no idea what I was doing haha. I Just kept pushing and pushing till I was good enough to get into a shop, here I am 7 years later as a full-time artist and I couldn’t be any happier being able to do what I love every day.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I do black and grey realism and clean custom lettering tattoos. The lettering came natural, Doing graffiti as a youngin it was all letters!

Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
If you’re a solid artist and you have the drive, you will make it.
