Check Out Angel Virtuoso’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Virtuoso.

Hi Angel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 2017 I moved to Arizona and found a few communities to attach myself. I was open and adamant about connecting with people, especially when I felt they could lead me in the right direction as I embarked on my new journey. I remember attending as many fashion events and parties as possible and opening mics. I dressed up well, and people grew a liking to me. I met Antionette Cauley in 2017, and she allowed me to showcase my paintings and live paint at the Hip Hop festival. From there, I would go to First Fridays and meet people through live painting. I met Kris Jackson of Suri Rose Boutique, and she gave me my first runway experience and has been a big guide on my journey in fashion overall. Over time I grew into both print and runway modeling. Once I got experience behind the scenes of fashion shows and presenting other forms of my art, I started to understand that I was different and would be more of a future fashion industry leader. Once I executed it, I only met a few people who understood my vision. About 2 years into relocating, I started a “collective” named Archangel Virtuoso, and I showcased art and fashion at the multimedia and international art show Trapxart. Within months I branded my multimedia fashion show, The Black Heart Event, in early 2020. I have sold clothes on different electronic and physical platforms since 2019. The Black Heart Event was a fundraiser because I was going on an internship for NYFW, so it’s pretty cool to see it wrapping around to a possible 4th annual this year. Over the years I have participated in over 20 fashion shows, have been published internationally in France, Canada, UK, and Germany. I’ve showcased multiple times in Paris, and am building a pipeline from AZ. I also have been awarded a plaque as a Style Icon. I also work with kids and adults sometimes teaching art sessions through a couple local Phoenix organizations. I’ve never had funding behind my projects, so I want to work on securing those opportunities to expand. A key to where I started and where I’m now is that I kept experiencing, shaping myself, and connecting as it fits in my life at any given time. I’ve been genuine, hardworking, supportive of others, and just myself. I’m at the brink of a new era for myself and with my work so I’m excited to cultivate that. With so much on my resume I oddly feel like I’m starting on a blank slate because of my recent reflections and endeavors. I welcome the change though because as a gemini change itself is a sacred space.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a rough road between moments of wavering mental health, “competition,” no or low sales, a full-blown pandemic, and lack of funding! Everything I’ve experienced has strengthened me as a woman and a professional, though, and I’m so thankful my mind has matured so much to leave it at that and get better.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in Image or Creative Consulting and Direction. I am a coordinator at heart, and details are very important. I am known for and proficient in Wardrobe Styling, Creative Direction, and Event Coordination for artistic events, photoshoots, and projects. I also love Personal Shopping and Closet Cleanses for everyday clients. I am also known for sourcing beautiful garments and making sales occasionally. Sometimes my art makes an appearance, haha. I’m most proud of being a conductor for the electric web of creatives I come in contact with. I am also proud of my visions and capacity to carry them out internationally. What sets me apart is that I consider the comfort of every person and part of each activity and project I do. I am a Gemini, and so I have a very vast perspective. I want every model to feel like their look was crafted for them or every event to have a universal love and quality.

So, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you before we go? How can they support you?
I am interested in curating a stable and collaborative media team to expand into other realms of art through film and print. I am consistently searching for solid team members who would like a place on set or behind the scenes doing administrative tasks to scale Archangel Virtuoso as a consistent and profitable, and fun business. I love to travel, so if you’re also looking for international opportunities, I would love to be the pipeline and experience that with others who want to further their careers. I’m open! Angel Virtuoso! As far as receiving support, I would benefit from a business management mentor and direct funding to Archangel Virtuoso to encourage and expand beyond Phoenix and bring back to Phoenix’s creative industries.
