Check Out Amanda Kalamvokis’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Kalamvokis.

Hi Amanda, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
In high school, I was a cheerleader, and although it was an amazing sport, it did lead me to disordered eating habits. I lost a lot of weight in a short time to achieve my smaller teammates’ physique. I eventually rebounded and developed a binge eating disorder. As I began to open up, I realized I was not the only high school girl that struggled with body image, comparison, and disordered eating behaviors.

I recovered and found peace with food, my body, exercise, and my fitness journey. Given the struggles I experienced, I knew all I wanted to do was to help other women avoid this situation. I decided to study dietetics after I graduated high school, and 4 years later became a Registered Dietitian. I then furthered my education and became a Certified Personal Trainer.

I now work as an online RD and coach. I acquire all my clients online. I work alongside Kendall Strampel, a well-known fitness influencer. I connected with her through social media. She took me on as an RD to work within her team FearstoFit. After working with her for some time, I was promoted to COO/head coach of the FearstoFit team. We then extended the FearstoFit vision and created a program called Revitalized. Revitalized is specifically geared towards women that struggle with gut health, hormone health, and thyroid issues. All of these things can be a result of disordered eating habits.

My main mission as a coach is to help women feel their best inside and out. I educate them and give them the tools I never had when struggling.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My disordered eating habits took up 5-6 years of my life. There was so much trial and error. There were things I know now that I wish I knew when I was younger, which is why I do what I do.

In my career now, it’s what I’ve always wanted to do – working online and helping more women 1-on-1 than I could ever in a clinical setting (which is the typical route for an RD). Just like any career path, it’s not always a smooth road. But working with a team of women with the same goal to help other women makes it so much easier to problem solve and overcome struggles.

We collaborate on different client scenarios and take different educational courses together to help further our knowledge and improve our coaching abilities.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I work as online health & fitness Registered Dietitian and Personal Trainer.

Had we loved to hear about any fond memories you have from growing up?
My favorite childhood memory was going to Disney World with my family when I was 8 years old! All the characters were so real to me! I was always afraid of amusement park rides/rollercoasters, but I did get out of my comfort zone and try some new rides there!
