Check Out Adriana Robles’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Robles.

Adriana Robles

Hi Adriana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi everyone! I’m Adriana, owner of Queen Bee’s Creations. I am so excited to have been nominated for this space! A bit about myself; I’ve been a stay-at-home mom for 16 years and have been married to the love of my life, Eddie, for 23 years. I have two boys, Ruben, a senior at the University of Arizona, and Isaac, a junior in high school. I also have a two-year-old Goldendoodle named Charlie. The idea of Queen Bee’s Creations started about 20 years ago. With my first son, I made everything for his birthday parties, like the decorations and goodie bags, and this is where my love for crafting began. I started making wreaths and my Christmas decorations, and soon enough, friends and family started asking me to create things for them. It was only a short time before I had several orders for holiday custom pieces. Over the years, my collection of crafting supplies has slowly taken over my guest room and any free space I had throughout my house. Since I now had a high volume of work to create, I turned the guest room into my new craft room, which has become the headquarters for Queen Bee’s Creations.

Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This journey hasn’t been all fun and glitter, though. My type-A personality always has me second-guessing all my decisions to ensure I can create the perfect item. Time management is another obstacle; there are not enough hours in a day to get everything created. Throughout the years, I’ve learned to go with the flow and make the best of the 24 hours that we all have. The pressures of life will try to manipulate you, but that doesn’t mean you should let them succeed.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I started with Christmas decorations. During that time, I enjoyed taking a plain wreath or garland and making it my own, something unique and personalized. Once my family and friends started asking me to create wreaths for them, I realized that this hobby could become something else. Once the holiday season ended, I focused on learning about other crafts. Throughout this time, I realized there were endless possibilities for creating and customizing almost anything. In 2020 (or whichever year you started at Screws), I had a lot of support and encouragement from my family and friends to start selling my creations. There was a vendor opportunity at a local handmade and vintage shop, so I decided to apply. Several months went by when I received an email for an interview for the opportunity to sell my products in their store. This was one opportunity that I knew I had to take. After meeting with the store owner and showing her several of my products, I was accepted to start selling. What started as a dream was now a reality. Over time Queen Bee’s Creations has evolved to adapt to my clients’ needs and suggestions. We specialize in little girls’ handmade accessories, which have been so much fun for me to create. You can find all my creations at Screws and Sparkles in Buckeye, AZ, and Retail Therapy in Phoenix at the Westgate location.
