Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole and Crystal Riha.

Nicole and Crystal, please share your story with us. 
Both of our parents are artists and thankfully gave us the creative gene. We had a lot of creative outlets growing up, from painting and drawing to creating sculptures, and when we were old enough to handle a camera it quickly became one of our passions. I (Nicole) was always fascinated by the human figure and portraits, while my sister had an amazing knack for capturing nature and wildlife. We decided to collaborate on our different styles to provide art for all photography lovers. That’s when Riha Photography was born.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Our photography is inspired by what we are drawn to and are fascinated by. It is also a way we express who we are and what we find beautiful. We hope that other artists are inspired by us and know photography is a way to express your creative side.

Have things improved for artists? What should cities do to empower artists?
I believe art has become more appreciated and social media has become easier for artists to be discovered. Cities can help encourage artists by having shows and writing articles just as you are doing.
