Today we’d like to introduce you to Nate Fenwick.
Nate, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
As a singer/songwriter at heart, I got my start in the music industry writing & performing in various bands over the years until recently releasing my debut album as a solo artist in early 2018 called “Wait for the Moment: Visionaries.” In college, I studied music, film, screenwriting, and audio production at Arizona State University and Mesa Community College. I also later attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts where I received my Master of Fine Arts in Film Music Composition.
Since 2014 I have recorded and produced hundreds of hours of music airing on a variety of TV shows across multiple cables and major television networks including ABC, NBC, FOX, E! and MTV to name a few. In 2015 I won an Emmy by the Television Academy Foundation for best music in a short film.
I recently launched my own private indie record label called, 00-FENNEC Records, Working remotely from Arizona, I also currently serve as creative director at one of the industry’s top TV music houses in Los Angeles- ScoreKeepers Music and handle music supervision for our artist catalog- Indie Orange.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I create everything from electro-rock (as a solo artist) to any other genre asked of me for film & TV. I record and produce other artists as well. My passion is helping others get the music that is in their own head down into a uniquely produced an audible format, whether that is for their film/TV show or their own music album. One of the most rewarding things for me as a music producer is to hear artists & clients say, “Wow, that’s even better than I envisioned it in my head!”
Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
No matter what local, national, or international events are occurring I don’t believe the role of artists has changed. In my opinion, simply put, I believe the role of the artist is to create something unique that speaks to their soul. Some of that may be influenced by events happening around the artist, and that’s okay, but that doesn’t change the role of an artist to create what speaks to them.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
