Check out Marc and Christine Cram’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marc and Christine Cram.

Marc, Christine, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Marc and I got married six and a half years ago. Both he and I love to create and brainstorm ideas. All that brainstorming lead to a lot of home projects. From working on our home projects. After showing our friends and family what we were making, the requests starting coming in. We love working with all different types of wood, from pallet wood to oak. There’s just such a story behind each piece that we can’t get enough of. I (Christine) am a huge fan of Fixer Upper and am always inspired by Joanna. I saw her wearing a pair of leather earrings in one episode and had the idea to make a similar pair out of wood. From there, Marc and I have created a bunch of different wood earrings as well as home decor that’s affordable and handmade.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Marc and I love doing things together and just spending quality time with each other. Since we both love to create, this has been an amazing outlet for us to get to do together. We create wood earrings and wood home decor, such as coffee tables, barn doors, benches, kitchen tables etc. For us, there is something so special with creating a family’s kitchen table for instance. Knowing there will be meals shared, games, conversations; basically, living life around a piece that we have made with our hands, well that’s pretty fulfilling for us. With our wood earrings, we wanted to create a way for people to be able to wear wood pieces. Our earrings are hand cut, sanded, stained and even painted. They are lightweight and are the perfect accessory to own.

Artists face many challenges, but what do you feel is the most pressing among them?
I think authenticity of what’s being made. Handmade artists put a lot of time and effort and money into making our pieces. It’s difficult when you find similar items at a big box store for only a few dollars when you have to charge more.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
We have a Facebook and Instagram page right now. People can search under “Puddsprettylilthings” and just send direct messages. We are talking about an easy shop in the near future. Marc and I love being at local events as well from time to time.
