Check out Lucie Marlo’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucie Marlo.

Lucie, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I was born in Quebec City, Canada. Drawing was my first love. I remember working hard for hours and being thrilled when my work won a number of local art competitions as a child. Growing up with health problems, my focus became wellness for those around me. Wanting to make a difference led me to earn a Ph. D. in Nutrition. I love people and found great satisfaction in my work, however, the demands of the field left me no time for creative expression. Over the years, my increasing desire to paint became undeniable. For the last seventeen years I paint for a living. A sense of duty compelled me to search for ways to contribute to health. By volunteering my time in various fundraising efforts, I had found the balance between my two passions.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I paint Acrylic on Canvas. I used to paint realism. After not painting for eleven years this style is what came pouring out. It comes from my very core. I have been told that my style is distinctive for its dynamic composition and interplay of colors. For me the painting process is a reflection on life: After years in a clinic I have seen much suffering, joy and everything in between. My work’s reoccurring theme is maintaining optimism through life’s trials and tribulations. Today, I am grateful to say my paintings are in corporate and private collections in Canada, USA, Europe and South Africa.

Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
A creative outlet is so healing when life gets challenging. There has been lot of tragic situations in recent history.
With social media an artist has an incredible opportunity to send a powerful message to many which would have not been possible in the past. The medium I believe is secondary to the human need to express love, dissatisfaction etc.
I love people and through art I try to depict that it is important to find beauty even in the smallest of blessings.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
I work mostly with private clients. I do a lot of commission work which I love. I also do a fair amount of work with designers who use my limited-edition prints in commercial projects. In Scottsdale, Copenhagen furniture showrooms in Scottsdale and in Phoenix carry my limited-edition prints. I will be exhibiting my paintings in Gallery Andrea which is located 7019 E. Main St. Scottsdale, AZ 85251 from November 15th 2018 to February 15th 2019.

What an amazing article about a talented sweet woman. I have the privilege of knowing Lucie on a personal level for many years. Her and her husband are such lovely people that work so hard and are equally generous. I have seen many of her pieces of art in person and pictures do not do them justice. She is an unbelievably talented woman and I am just in awe of the creative representations of her personality that come out on her canvas. Way to go Lucie. It’s time for Phoenix to see what a valuable asset to the art community they have.

Lucie’s artwork is not only brilliant but also very colourful and uplifting.
She is also one of the most generous individuals I know, who truly cares about the health, welfare and happiness of not only the people around her but people and animals in general. It is such a special marriage she has, both creativity and caring. One of my favourite people😊.

Lucie Marlo has the ability to express her emotions, and invoke them in us, on her thought provoking paintings. Indeed I have felt the emotions of her paintings as well among my family and friends of all age groups. Over the years of collecting Lucie’s work, I have observed an intrinsic insight of depth and intenseness of emotional quality imparted to her paintings.
