Today we’d like to introduce you to Leevel Ford.

Leevel, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
As a kid, it was always about art. It was something I took a liking to, as well as grow at a rapid paste in it. Going into my Jr. year of high school is when I was asked a defining question from my stepdad. “What do you guys want to do for the rest of your lives?” At that moment is when I said in my head, because I was scared to say it out loud “Art”. And so, I choose to put all efforts into doing that for the next years to come. Tattooing came later down the line, when my best friend started working in a tattoo shop. I had just taken a semester off from a technical college I was attending, so I had a lot of time to hangout in the shop.

Trying to figure out what I really wanted to do while in college before I got too deep in. After hanging out all the time, I got tattooed as well as start to grow a real passion for it. Got back into doing a lot more drawing which I loved. I started drawing tattoo ideas for possible pieces for the future. Not knowing if I would be doing the pieces. Until one day it switched, and I was drawing things I wanted to tattoo myself. Five months of me contemplating it over, I finally was ready to actually do one. Did two very small tattoos just to get a feel of it, and instantly fell in love with it. Didn’t know if it was something for a career, just knew I wanted to do this as long as I could. Fast forward to today, and now I’ve been overseas and nearly all over the united states. Never knew this would help me to build a business of my own, as well as be my own boss. So, I branched out my brand Artistic Perspective into a record label, clothing line, and a production company. So, I can maybe inspire another or at least help them with their own dreams.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Artistic Perspective is the brand, I’m a tattooist, lyricist, singer, rapper, photographer, and brand ambassadors.
My message is to inspire to create, and create to inspire. All my art is real and truly a part of me, and I strive to always keep that love and passion for it.

What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
Ambition, drive, discipline, and faith in your dream. Success is truly whatever people really value in life. Your happiness can be success.
