Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Segall.

Laura, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I am an Arizona based photographer who loves the desert, Boston Terriers and has a serious addiction to bright and colorful sneakers.

I studied photojournalism at the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York and began my career working for newspapers all over the U.S. Currently, as a freelance photographer in Phoenix my work has been
published in countless national and international publications.

Whether photographing an editorial assignment or a couple on their wedding day, I approach each subject with thought, care, and passion. I think about my own wedding as I photograph weddings for other people.

That day was magical from start to finish for my husband and me. I will never forget how special it was to be surrounded by all of our friends and family. My goal is to capture that feeling for each and every one of my clients.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am a storyteller at heart. When photographing weddings, I always look for ways to capture the raw emotion of the day. My goal is to capture the spirit and essence of the wedding for each of my unique clients.

Have things improved for artists? What should cities do to empower artists?
My advice for young artists is to be persistent and to always work on perfecting your craft. Phoenix has a wonderful community of photographers who support each other and offer constructive critiques.
