Today we’d like to introduce you to Lacey Shelton.

Lacey, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I have been passionate about art since I was five years old, where I remember sitting in my kindergarten art class thinking…this is what I want to do forever! I received my degree in art with honors from Grand Canyon University. I have exhibited in various galleries in the valley, as well as the pacific northwest, & have been fortunate to have collections by several professional athletes in the PGA, & online galleries such as Overstock.com, & Better Homes & Gardens.com.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I paint realistic modern oil paintings. I want to create environments which give delight & joy. My focus is to portray an atmosphere where anything is possible & living life abundantly. I enjoy painting mechanical things like typewriters & street signs, as well as incorporating something alive such as a bird or butterfly. My typewriters allow me to add a message in the keys, which conveys a conceptual theme of hope & love.

How can artists connect with other artists?
I have found that applying to a call to artist prospectus opens up meeting other artists, as well as attending gallery receptions.

People can see my work through my website, & on the contacts page: arrange a studio visit, request a giclee, or an original, request a custom painting, & get emails about upcoming gallery shows throughout the valley.
