Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelsey Sherman.

Kelsey, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I have always loved photography. I love having the ability to show my love for beauty through a photograph, being able to see things from my perspective. When I was young, my grandfather would take me to a developer every few weeks to pick up photographs we took on film. At the age of 11, he gave me his Nikon to practice my skills and to have fun. When he passed, I would always look back on the photographs we had taken of our little town in California, of my horses and, of course, our family, and I would reminisce on those memories. Having tangible proof of these memories drew me into photography further. It’s the perfect way to look back and smile on good times.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am a photographer, an amateur one, but a photographer nonetheless. Being able to give others tangible memories that they can look back on is not only incredible but also an honor and a privilege. I hope that when I take photos of people or their pets or things they love, they are able to be moved with such passion, whether it be happy or sad emotions.

What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
Success, to me, is when a family is ecstatic about the photographs they receive. Success is having a mother moved to tears at how beautiful her child looks in the photograph. Success is when a couple can reminisce on that special day. When your client is happy with what they receive, then you as an artist are successful.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
I currently only have an Instagram with an email attached to my page for contacting purposes. Photography is a hobby that I love to share with others. My Instagram for my photography page is @kelseyrenayphotography! People can support my work by following my page and showing my work to their friends and family!
