Today we’d like to introduce you to Jynelle Hatch.
Jynelle, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Back in high school, I was enrolled in a Photography elective course. This was in the days before digital and we used black and white film. We would load our own film can and develop the film. Getting to go into the darkroom and develop our negatives was one of my favorite days. There was something special about the magic of black and white film and not being able to instantly see the photo come to life on the back of your camera. The wait to develop the negatives and photos was always worth it!
Over the past couple of years, my interest for photography has sparked again and I have been learning the ins and outs of natural light photography. I have really enjoyed specializing in portrait photography and getting to capture families, couples, and maternity. There is something so special about being able to bring the inside beauty of a family or mom to be to life on the camera. I always love the reactions of my clients on gallery delivery days!
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I specialize in capturing natural light portrait photography. I love getting out into the desert during golden hour and having fun with families, couples, and mothers to be. Often times dads or husbands may be wary about the session, but I keep a casual fun approach so they end up leaving laughing and having had a great time.
My absolute favorite sessions are maternity. Often times women who are pregnant are struggling with morning sickness or not feeling themselves during pregnancy and bring the beauty of their growing baby and the love that the mother has for her child to light on the camera is so precious. I know first hand the struggles that can come with pregnancy and capturing moms to be will always have a special place in my heart.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
