Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Owen.

Jessica, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
My name is Jessica Owen. I am an East Texas native who moved to Arizona in 2017 after graduating from Texas A&M University with a bachelor of arts in communication and history in 2016. I grew up on a farm in East Texas riding horses, feeding chickens, and exploring which gave me a strong love for all types of animals and nature. My favorite hobbies now are reading, listening to music, and yoga.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do? Why? And what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I have always been a creative whose passions are rooted in music, design, and photography. My inspiration stems from finding beauty in everything and everyone. We all have something truly and beautifully unique that we bring into the world. My goal is to capture a part of it in an image. I find a wonderful way to bring joy to the world is through making others smile. I strive to capture genuine and authentic moments that show people just how beautiful, strong, unique, brave, etc. he or she is through an image of how the world sees them.

How can artists connect with other artists?
It definitely can be lonely! Especially when you are new to an area. I recommend joining Facebook groups. I have found immense support by joining social media groups. Each group has meetups, posts about supporting each other, and offers a network of like-minded individuals.
