Today we’d like to introduce you to Jesse Perry.
Jesse, age 33, is a lifelong artist with aspirations of greatness on a worldwide scale. Jesse’s work can currently be viewed throughout Phoenix, Mesa, Gilbert, Scottsdale, Glendale and beyond, in both public and private locations. Jesse has been featured in a variety of publications, including Jaime’s Local Love on Good Morning Arizona. She has also worked for organizations such as the Scottsdale Public Art Program and is now teaming up with several organizations to help stoke the creative fire in the heart of one of America’s fastest growing cities. For 2018, she will be focusing his efforts on large-scale public projects throughout the Metropolitan area, as well as brand development with several local businesses including one of the country’s top 40 breweries, Helio Basin.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Well known for working in any style, any size and with any medium, Perry uses an abnormally bright color pallet to deliver his New School Graphic Style to the streets and local businesses. Perry’s work is both bold and versatile, often filled with humor and fun loving characters of the Southwest as well as commonly being laced with hidden messages that speak to the idea of unity and community. Perry is constantly seeking his next challenge and opportunity to express himself in the public space, but one thing is for certain when you see a Jesse Perry piece, you know it.
What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
As an artist, Perry defines success at a personal level. Each piece is a portion of self-expression that conveys a story through color and composition. The quality of that success is represented by the quality of work and Perry’s attention to detail with each piece.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
Perry’s work can be seen throughout the greater Phoenix and beyond. Most notably, Perry has designed several beer labels for Helio Basin which have featured on several news stations and can be found at many local restaurants as well as AJ Fine Foods and more! His large-scale murals can be seen all over the city including the old Zinnias on Melrose, the Melinda’s Alley Cocktail bar at the Renaissance Hotel and on the freeway exit at 7th Ave and Roosevelt.
