Check out Hassan Saleh’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hassan Saleh.

Hassan, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I think what makes a great story is a mix of rarity and reliability. We want to hear something new but we still want to be able to connect with it. My story is relatable to many people; I grew up in a broken home where my father left us at an early age, and as a result, a lot of responsibility was placed on me. Movies and music helped me escape from home and become happy.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I create music and travel videos. I partner up with artists to create music videos. I travel with friends to create travel videos. I create these videos because growing up, I watched a ton of music and travel videos and they always seemed nostalgic. They took me out of my toxic home environment and into a blissful euphoric environment that felt fun and safe. I now look to create similar projects to inspire other people who are in similar situations as I was. I hope to inspire them to stand up to any toxic people/environments in their life and to have the courage to change their environment. We don’t get to choose the hands we start off in life, but we do get to choose to change them.

Have things improved for artists? What should cities do to empower artists?
I think it’s become easier than ever for artists to create art. I also believe since technology made the barrier for entry a lot a lower, there’s become a saturation of artists. I believe in order to stand out as an artist today, you need to become more efficient & produce work DAILY on major social media platforms. While anyone can pick up a camera and have “Filmmaker” in their bio; experiences cannot be cheated and that’s what will ultimately set an artist apart from everyone else. Micro speed but macro patience. Work obsessively daily but expect to come out on top in 5/6/7 years.

Cities can organize events where artist meet up and create art together without money being the end goal. Photo meet ups where models and photographers meet up and take pictures for fun is a great idea.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
All my work is mostly on Instagram but a website is coming soon. @hassizleee
