Check out Eleonore Rowe’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eleonore Rowe.

Eleonore, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I was always passionate about telling stories with my drawings since I remember. As a kid, I drew images of stories I’ve read and filled little notebooks with drawings. I was always the kid in school who would do some commissions for lunch money and I won some painting competitions back then. When I was 19 years old I decided to study Illustration and Design in Germany where I grew up. I think Design and Illustration is a perfect combination that allows me to create projects in a wider spectrum.

In 2016 I moved to the US with my husband. Since 2017 I work as an illustration professor at a local university where I live. It is fun and inspires me to push my work even further. Right now, I want to expand my portfolio and to grow my freelance business.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
The focus of my work is in the field of illustration. Illustrations inspired me as a child to explore stories and to learn more about the world we are living in. This experience convinced me to study illustration and design because illustrations had a deep impact in my life. I want to make people curious and also inspire children to read a good story and to learn more about this world.

The main statement of my work is to connect people. Whether with emotions, culture, or information. Art is a great tool to bring people together from different backgrounds and to connect. In my Master studies I focused on connecting people with and without disabilities through art and design. I think as a creative we have the responsibility to support our community and to create meaningful connections.

What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
Success is when your art is connecting with people. When people stop and take a moment to have a look at your artwork and to appreciate your message. Another major success for artists and designers is to stay inspired and productive. This sounds easier than many people think. It takes courage to do art.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
