We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I started to draw immediately when I was able to hold a pencil in my hand at the age of two. My first art teacher was my Father, an extraordinary aircraft designer. My childhood experiences at the best Russian and European Museums gave me a solid foundation and deep life lasting inspiration. Some of my favorite great artists of the past: from Rembrandt till Matisse, loved and collected beautiful garments, rags, and accessories. I loved studying and later teaching Costume History and culture of dressing.
I love drawing and painting people. I am fascinated by their facial expressions and inner worlds.
My other inspiration is animals. I was first asked to paint horses at Ascot Racecourse when I lived in England. I love horses, and their beauty touches my heart. I am not satisfied with stagnant positions, I like challenging movements and unusual perspective. Having worked in animation, inspires me to paint continues progression of their movements. I like the depiction of a “frozen” motion in time.
I am fulfilled and energized when my painting is “adopted” and continue to enrich the lives of those who live with them. I am learning, growing, and maturing.
As far as my religious paintings concern, I believe they are my future. I pray and wait till God gives me a unique visual revelation of a specific Scripture or Biblical event. They should be aesthetically pleasing, intellectually fulfilling, and spiritually meaningful. God is Beauty.
Artists face many challenges, but what do you feel is the most pressing among them?
Less and less people go to artists studios, museums, and art galleries. More and more people dwelling on the Internet. Artists have to learn how to take their places on different online media forums.

After that, I will participate in the Invitational Exhibition in American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame and Museum from the 17th of August till the 12th of October.
