Check out Chuck Serna’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chuck Serna.

Chuck, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Well, I was always into photography and how interesting it was. I would carry around a disposable camera and take pics, even when you had to hold down the button to generate a flash. But there was a time in my life where anxiety had the best of me where I couldn’t do much. The one thing that changed and helped me deal with my anxiety was picking up a camera.

In 2008, I gifted my first real camera, and it all changed from there. I was able to accomplish things I couldn’t before, it was an amazing feeling to be able to forget all things and focus on what I was looking at through my viewfinder and nothing else mattered. As I practiced and got better at the craft, and had some good pointers from a professional photographer by the name of Hector Leyva (sugar Mill Studios) in las vegas. I was able to start creating art that I could be proud of and the amazing things I’ve been able to do with photography. Ultimately photography saved my life.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
My art is photography, I love to take pics of many things, but mostly of cars, that is my passion. I’ve been around them my whole life. I have built them. I just enjoy the curves of a vehicle and the joy it brings to anyone who looks at the pictures and how they can capture so many feelings for so many people. What I would hope is that people take away from my pictures are enjoyment and refreshing feeling of the pieces I have created with my camera.

One thing you should know about my artwork is that I put all my passion through the lens. So, when someone looks at my pictures, I want them to feel the same passion I had while taking it.

Artists face many challenges, but what do you feel is the most pressing among them?
The biggest challenge for artists today is the power of social media. When I first started in 2008, there was no Instagram to be able to showcase my photography. In 2010, when Instagram officially started that was the opportunity and platform to showcase my work, and it worked out great, but the challenge now we have to continue to grow and move with the times and progress and try new things and separate yourself from the rest.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
People can support my work by following me on facebook @chuck.serna.1 and also on Instagram @chuck_serna.
