Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Fortunato.

Chris, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
My dedication to photography all started in 2008. In April, my aunt came out to Arizona for a vacation and she brought her newly purchased Nikon DSLR. However, she didn’t know much about it. For the length of her vacation, she told me I was in charge of the camera and the photos for her to bring back home. After the vacation was over, everyone was going through the photos and they were all amazed at how great they turned out. From that moment on, my love for photography began. This experience encouraged me to buy my own camera and ever since that week in April, I’ve been hooked on photography.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I’m a photographer and my favorite type of photos to create is live music photography. I love going to concerts and capturing other artists sharing what they love with their fans. I was a few years into photography when I discovered concert photography and learned at how great of a challenge it was. That challenge is what sparked my interest, you have to work hard to create those photos and every show is a different setting. Concert photography is always keeping me on my toes and teaching me how to grow myself as an artist and photographer.

Artists face many challenges, but what do you feel is the most pressing among them?
It’s an awesome thing for all artists but also a struggle. Technology and social media has made it easier but also more challenging for artists. As an artist, you can get their work out much easier and to more people then ever before, but that means more people are putting out work and art than ever before so its a fight between so many artists to get your work noticed.
