Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Perrone.
Andrea, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Photography was something that just spoke to me. It started in my 8th-grade video production class when we had a week-long photography course. I used unique angles that surprised my teacher and inspired me to take more photos. I then took photography for my entire high school career and went on to be the president of the photo club at my high school. I love what goes into creating photos and I will continue to show people my view through what I create.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I see the little beauties in everyday things and I always strive for my photos to point out these things for everyone to enjoy. If you just look at life at a different angle, you see so much more. My artwork is a lot of freelance considering I’m still just starting out. I shoot many things: portraits, sports, landscapes, and more. My favorite thing to shoot is typically portraits because you never know what will come from your shoot it’s not just about what you are doing but it also relies on the model and how they style the image as well.
Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
In today’s world photography is a high demand thing, pictures are needed for everything. You need photos to sell things, photos for jobs, and many more. Social media has grown the need for photos, whether for an advertisement or whatever the need pictures are everywhere. However, even with the high demand for photos, the competition between photographers is huge. Getting jobs isn’t always easy. It can vary on time of year, for example, March through May roughly is senior portrait times where there’s more of a chance you’ll get hired to take portraits than you would in like October. Local events affect photography as well. I like to shoot at events concerts, fairs, and more.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
I show most of my work on my Instagram (andrea.perrone). You can support my work by following my account, liking a photo, leaving a comment. If you stay updated on my Instagram, I am currently making my website so that will be done soon and I’ll put the link in my bio.
