Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Noble.
Amanda, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I grew up in a family that is filled with artists from both sides. My grandparents and parents are gifted in their ability to draw and paint. My mother is an artist and always had a studio space in our house filled with supples and the freedom to create. I always knew I wanted to be an artist as long as I can remember. I graduated with my Bachelors in Fine Arts in 2017. I hadn’t decided I wanted to be a figurative oil painter until two years ago after I graduated school, I began painting full time.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I’m an artist that makes large scale conceptual figurative realism oil paintings about the human experience and how we interact with each other and through technology in the 21st century. I like to combine the new references from today’s life with the classical style of portrait painting. I’m inspired by technology, pop culture, classical figurative paintings, and new trends on social media. I’m interested in creating paintings that are both personal and universal where anyone can bring their own interpretation to the viewing experience.
What do you know now that you wished you had learned earlier?
I think for me I found it really important to find a mentor you can take criticism from. For me, my mom has been an amazing mentor in pushing my work to be the best it can be and is the reason I have improved my painting ability so much in only two years.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
Currently, my artwork can be seen on my Instagram @amanda.noble.art where I post progress pictures and videos and respond to comments and questions and my artwork will be up on my website at amandanobleart.com. You can also schedule a studio visit if you would like to see the work in person. My aspiration for the future is to have my artwork show in the Phoenix Art Museum.
