Today we’d like to introduce you to Alison Ivey Merritt Hughes.
Alison Ivey, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
For 20 years now I am here visiting Earth; I was born in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1997. I spent my childhood there roaming the forests talking to the faeries and animals. I now study Digital Culture with focuses on Art and Fashion Design at Arizona State University. I am always searching for new mediums and outlets in which I can fuel my visionary spirit and satisfy my desire to precipitate an epidemic of compassion in the world. xoxo
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am a boundless lover. Art has become an indivisible aspect of my life…it allows me to spread the frequency of my love to a larger scale. Operating with whatever medium fits my mood at the time, anything from spray paint to music production to fashion design to computer coding to live performance, I use art to capture the energy of a moment or time and create a sensory thing out of it. Most of my art includes the human. I am fascinated by the nature of something that is alive. We are all co-creators of this world through every thought we think, and every action we take and this is why I transformed my entire presence into an art practice. I am attracted to the interconnectedness of the planet and I want the love in my heart to become the world’s instead of just mine.
Artists face many challenges, but what do you feel is the most pressing among them?
We are ALL a force to be reckoned with, and we are ALL artists. “The now” is a forever genre of emptiness…new dimensions are coming to be. ~ The biggest challenge facing the human race today is that people are not awakening to their personal Powers and not realizing that we are all truly creators, and this creation is instinctual and necessary for the expansion of the collective consciousness!
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
