Today we’d like to introduce you to Alisha Hunsaker.

Alisha, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I never imagined I was any sort of artist. I was going to school for business and I thought it would be fun to take photography as an elective. Immediately, I was hooked. I spent the next few years honing my skills and working until I finally got to a place where I could quit my day job and focus on photography exclusively. I’ve never looked back. Working with people and creating something, fulfills me more than anything else ever has. I love my job and I’m so grateful because not a lot of people can say that.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I focus mostly on wedding photography. I love getting to know couples like friends. I focus mostly on the couple’s personalities and how I can interpret that into a loving, fun photo session. I also enjoy other types of portrait photography. I love working with people of all types and it brings me so much joy when they love their photos! More than anything, I hope that my clients will always cherish the memories I’ve created for them!

Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
Traditional weddings are definitely going by the wayside. I have more and more couples choosing to do weddings their own way without much thought to tradition and I love it! It really makes things more meaningful to them as a couple and the family that is participating. Love is love and the way any couple wants to celebrate that is up to them!
