Today we’d like to introduce you to Vinci Wilder.
Vinci, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Throughout art history, we’ve grouped styles of art into eras. We are currently in a golden age of art. Today is the best time in human history to be an artist. To be a 20-year-old coming up as an artist and to be refining my craft in this renaissance is a blessing. We get to create something unique for us. We are the new masters of this generation. We get to create art that will be immortalized. There’s something special about being apart of that.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
Broadly, I am a fine artist. I create oil paintings, sculptures, digital paintings, drawings, etc.
I create to capture my viewers in a web that is the story I tell. It’s always fun seeing people who get, their faces light up when they look at my work.
I take my inspiration from all the classical painters, like Vermeer or Leonardo da Vinci. I’m not looking to copy though. Picasso says “good artist copy and great artist steal.”
I’m looking that achieve that level of mastery and steal. I want to take where they left off and branched off into something new and never seen before.
Do you think conditions are generally improving for artists? What more can cities and communities do to improve conditions for artists?
You cannot be a reclusive artist in this day and age if you want to succeed. Go out to art shows, meet people. Put yourself out there and be an active part of this thriving art community. Send people DMs, comment on posts, make friends with people. It’s really as simple as that.
The starving/lonely artist trope is a choice. Opportunity is everywhere, and you just have to go out and take it.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
I’m highly active on Instagram. You can see everything I’m creating there. If you want to become a #CollectorOfVinci my art is available at VinciWilder.com
