Today we’d like to introduce you to Valerie Thompson .

Valerie, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I am a motorcycle land speed racer and team owner. I currently hold eight land speed records and am the world’s fastest female motorcycle racer with a top speed of 328 mph. My next goal is to capture the world’s fastest motorcycle title by breaking the long-standing record of 376 mph with the Team “7” Racing streamliner.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
My art is going as fast as possible on two-wheels on racing surfaces that vary from dry lake beds, asphalt, to centuries-old salt flats. You could say I take great risks in creating and managing speed. I’m often referred to as “America’s Queen of Speed.”

Artists rarely, if ever pursue art for the money. Nonetheless, we all have bills and responsibilities, and many aspiring artists are discouraged from pursuing art due to financial reasons. Any advice or thoughts you’d like to share with prospective artists?
I have to rely on sponsors and fans who want to support the team. Getting your story and work in front of the right target audience is key, so focus on marketing your brand.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
We race at the famed Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah and Lake Gardiner located in Southern Australia. Fans can attend a competition or visit my web to view videos and a wide selection of photos.
